America's oldest pizza place it proclaims. 1905 Naples fare. Coal fired crust and Italian tourists babbling - in the late night streets of Soho. Great vibe. The Brooklyn draft lager is way overpriced, but the pizza double pepperoni was worth it. Cash Only.

Corner pizzeria. Busy super busy. The service is impeccable. Super quick and super efficient. Like a fine oiled machine. I ordered a gluten free white pizza and this is the best gluten free pizza I've ever had. As all the other reviewers say it's cash only. ATM on premises. We had a wait to be seated. They give you one of those buzzer things when your table is ready. The wait was quicker than first said. That said it is definitely one of best pizza places in NYC.

Soho is a place where I think yoga at the Equinox and shopping in the most inconvenient way. I prefer just going to 5th avenue or Saks than feeling like Indiana Jones and looking for all the stores I need to go to and the crowd! Dear goodness! It is not a moment for me. However, my gf had places she needed to go to for her bf's bday gift so I went to support her endeavors. We had lunch, but we were hungry by the time it was dinner time. We happened to be around here so we decided to get a pizza and salad. For those who are plastic like I am when it comes to method of payment, this place is CASH ONLY. They do have an atm, but they charge a fee. So, do as you will with these facts. My gfs and I dug through our bags and managed to have about $100 in total. I quickly did the math and we decided it was enough to eat here. We got the meatball pizza and a caesar. Caesar was delicious and more than sufficient to be a side for three ladies. The pizza was good, but my personal preference is pepperoni, but my gf chose this. However, it was still good. The food comes out fast and the staff is very nice while being fast. Very impressed with this place and will need to go to Soho more to find new eats like this place! Can't believe I missed out on all the times I could have grabbed a bite here when I was hungry after the gym. It is right there!

1st thing I would like to note is that is that this place is CASH ONLY! They do have an ATM inside if needed. Each pizza is about $25 to $30 bucks each. On to the review - I came here during lunch time on a Wednesday and there was no line. Now I do see that there are mixed reviews for the place but it looks to be due to the style of pizza you like. I have been getting into thin crust pizza recently thanks to my trip to Tomasso in San Francisco. Lombardi is known for being credited to making the New York Style Pizza. Since I was by myself and unable to share with others, I was only able to get one pizza for myself. I got the meatball which consisted of cut up meatballs, Ricotta cheese, and red sauce. The crust was thin and just the right amount of crispy. I will make sure to try clam Pie next time. I have never seen this on the West Coast as it is an East Coast creation.

They used to offer the larger size now they only have 1 size which is the 12'. Still delicious as ever! We got lucky and came in around 3pm with no wait. Usually there is a wait at this place. The crust is thin and crispy. The toppings were delicious and flavorful. Not much parking around. Best to walk if possible. They have outdoor and indoor dining as well.

I have finally made my way to Lombardi's Pizza which is the first pizzeria in America. With that said, I was very excited to see what the hype was about. With that known, I ordered their famous double pepperoni and clam pizzas. To start, I dove into the pepperoni pizza and it was excellent. To enumerate, the crust was crispy and fresh. In addition, the pepperoni was delicious and the pizza was loaded with them. Also, the sauce was top notch and had great flavor. Furthermore, the cheese had just the right amount of grease and cheesiness. It was simply a great pie. After that, I tried the clam pizza which was solid, but not as good. To explain, the pizza had good flavor, but the clams tasted canned. However, the crust was still really good and I still enjoyed the pizza. To call it a day, Lombardi's has great pizza and the double pepperoni pizza is phenomenal.

Lombardi's is the oldest pizzeria in the U.S. -- located in the Little Italy/Nolita area amongst dozens of pizza joints, it offers a few indoor tables with a nice homie feel to it. We took our pizza to go so that we could eat it at a nearby park (which is a fun way to enjoy it in the summer if the inside is crowded). The pizza is good, but not exceptional. Not in the top three I've had in the city. But it's kind of fun to say you've eaten at America's first pizzeria, so it's definitely worth going once if you haven't tried it.

Made sure to do my research on New York style pizza and where to find some of the best pizza while traveling to New York (obviously) and came across Lombardi's being mentioned a ton as this place pretty much pioneered NY style pizza. The actual ambiance in here is great! Definitely has an old school New York/Italian household feel. Tons of photos on the wall and lots to look at. As I know how popular this place is, I was expecting a long wait but we luckily went on a weekday around 1pm and were seated quickly for a party of 4. Our server welcomed us and gave us some recommendations which was appreciated. Now onto the pizza review, I mean I can't say they don't know how to do NY style pizza because they literally invented it so obviously it was spot on. The crust was thin and crispy and held it's fold. Tried a pepperoni and sausage pizza, the toppings were a good amount and the cheese was really good. My only complaint is that I wish the sauce had a bit more flavor to really make the pizza stand out. Overall if you want a slice of history you should give this place a try.
